Peter Costello (AC) served as Treasurer of the Commonwealth of Australia between 1996 and 2007 and remains the longest serving Treasurer in Australia’s history.
He brought down twelve consecutive Federal Budgets, including ten surpluses. During that period, he eliminated Commonwealth Government debt in net terms and saw Australia's credit rating twice upgraded to AAA status.
Mr Costello (AC) is now the Chairman of the Australian Future Fund (which holds around $130 billion in assets) and Chairman of the Nine Entertainment Corporation, a public company that provides media and entertainment.
In January 2011 he was made a Companion (AC) in the Order of Australia.
Hedley Widdup graduated as a geologist with first class honours from the University of Melbourne in 2000. As a mine geologist, he worked for WMC, Xstrata and Gold Fields across nickel, copper-uranium, lead-zinc and gold mines. Since joining Lion, Hedley has worked across all facets of the investment portfolio as well as on corporate transactions and investor relations.
Hedley presently manages the direct investments of Lion Selection Group Limited and is an executive director of Lion Manager Pty Ltd. Additionally Hedley provides considered research and commentary on the resource investment sector both through the publication of LionAnalyst, and as a regular speaker at key resource investment events.
